'Skyfall' shaking and stirring weekend ticket sales

Scott Bowles USA TODAY

7:54PM EST November 9. 2012 - The Skyfall is already rising.
The 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise, which opened today, is accounting for more than 65% of ticket sales for Fandango, the online ticket retailer says.
Skyfall marks a high-profile weekend at the box office, which sees James Bond opening against Abraham Lincoln as 007 takes on Steven Spielberg's biopic and Oscar-hopeful Lincoln.
It won't be a close race, as Lincoln opens in only 11 theaters this weekend to build anticipation for its nationwide rollout Nov. 16. Skyfall, analysts say, should capture at least $70 million.
Much of the spy fever has been fueled by singer Adele, Fandango says. According to the firm's poll of 1,000 moviegoers, 54% of respondents said her single, Skyfall, increased their interest and awareness of the film, which stars Daniel Craig.
Next on Fandango's list: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, which opens Nov. 16 and is accounting for 17% of online sales.
